AirPrint – Apple Technology for Driverless Printing

Printers that support AirPrint technology do not need to install drivers and any other software for Mac OS X. Almost any manufacturer has such printing devices. Lists of printers are published on the Apple support site and are updated regularly (once a month, according to the site’s technical support).

You can see the technical specifications . However, in order to know for sure whether your printer has the technology, it is best to contact the manufacturer’s technical support. The absence of such an entry in the documentation does not always mean that the function is not supported. Sometimes AirPrint is added with new firmware.

For the technology to work, an AirPrint-enabled printer and a Macbook or iPhone/iPad/iPod must:

  • Connect to one Internet access point via Wi-Fi,
  • Stay in range for each other.

How to print from a Mac computer is described in detail here , instructions for mobile devices are here (both articles are in English).
