It is better not to install a driver without a digital signature on your computer if you have the slightest doubt about its origin. Sure? Then turn off the check for the duration of the driver installation, and immediately reboot the system in normal mode. Mandatory verification of digital signatures will be enabled automatically.
- In the Windows Action Center, select All Options and click Update Security in the pop-up window that appears.
- Next, you need to open the Recovery tab and click on the Restart now button in it. Wait a bit and you will be offered a choice of actions.
- Press the following buttons in succession :
- Extra options,
- Download options.
- Click Reload . Wait a bit again and, after the list of boot options appears on the screen, by pressing the F7 button on your computer keyboard, confirm that you want to disable the mandatory verification of driver digital signatures.
Now you can install your driver without a digital signature. Do not forget to restart your computer so that the signature verification mode is enabled again.
When is it necessary to install unsigned drivers in Windows? When there is no official driver for your system, but someone made a self-made one (slightly tweaked the original one for a different OS or bit depth). Naturally, such a driver will not have a signature and the system, protecting your PC or laptop from malware, will not allow its installation. In this case, error code 52 appears when installing the driver and you will need to disable the mandatory check.
